Are you looking for a replacement feature step staircase in Fife?
A feature step is the ultimate invitation to explore your new staircase and can be finished in natural oak or with a stylish carpet.
A step can say a great deal about the personality of your staircase.
It can be a flamboyantly grand or understated and can be added to a staircase renovation or incorporated into the design.
A feature step can also alter the position of the first newel post creating much more room.

Feature Step Staircase Fife
You may be wondering what the difference between bullnose and curtail steps is but it really is quite simple.
A curtail step has curved or squared edges with a much larger radius than bullnose steps, this step usually travels around the newel post to finish off at either side of your staircase and tends to house the post.
Similarly, a bullnose step also has round or squared edges but finishes off at the front edge of the newel post and has a much smaller radius.
These feature steps can also be incorporated to suit a staircase joining a wall to allow for a half bullnose or curtail step.
Curtail Step
A curtail step (left) curves at the edge(s) to creates a ‘D’ shaped feature.

Bullnose Step
A bullnose step (right) features a rounded (quarter circle) corner joining the front edge and side of the step
